Loans are available for any productive and legal purpose. Members can borrow unlimited amounts within their shares and savings. Alternately, a member can borrow up to a maximum of $10 million, using shares along with additional collateral as outlined in the credit union’s policy. Loan applications are processed daily providing that the application gets to the office before 10:00 A.M. Loans outside of shares and savings and in excess of $500,000.00 are submitted to a Credit Committee for approval providing all the necessary requirements have been met. The turnaround times for these loans are between five to ten working days.
Acceptable Forms of Collateral
- Hypothecation of funds at any financial institution
- Cash surrender value on insurance policies
- Listed shares for select companies
- Bills of sale on motor vehicles up to 10 years old
- Mortgages on registered property
- Co-makers or guarantors
Line of Credit
Members get up to 5 years to repay but the facility can continue for a lifetime as it is a revolving loan facility. It must be fully secured and draw downs can be made as required. Funds can be accessed using a Credit Union Access Plus Card at any Multi-Link or Credit Union ABM or point of sale location.
